TSnews KANSAS CITY, MO. – Opening night for the Kansas City Chiefs football season was a night to remember for one fan.

On Friday morning, the Kansas Department of Health and Environment issued boil orders for the City of Garden Plain and for the Cheney State Park Marina public water supply, which is supplied by the City of Garden Plain water system.

Customers should observe the following precautions until further notice:

• Boil water for one minute prior to drinking or food preparation or use bottled water.

• Dispose of ice cubes and do not use ice from a household automatic icemaker.

CHENEY – A police officer was arrested earlier this week after being accused of rape.

Cheney Police Chief Ken Winter confirmed that Officer Grant Cook was arrested on Tuesday following an interview with Sedgwick County Sheriff's investigators.

Winter said the victim reported to a full-time Cheney police officer on Monday. He was notified a short time after.

“We brought in the officer who was accused,” Winter said.

TSnews A few weeks ago, Goddard Public Schools held a first-ever job fair in an effort to fill open positions. This district has needs in a variety of areas, including para educators, maintenance, transportation and in nutrition services.

TSnews Price Family Farms entered a whopping 17.5-pound cabbage in the Sedgwick County Fair, earning the grand champion purple ribbon and first place blue ribbon. The cabbage was grown by Thalene Chard.
