Alert issued for Goddard man

GODDARD –The Sedgwick County Sheriff is asking for the public’s help to locate a missing adult. An alert was issued Monday afternoon for 25-year-old Aaron Kerschen, who was last seen in the 900 block of North 183rd Street West in Goddard at 3 a.m.

Cheney police officer arrested on rape charge

CHENEY – A police officer was arrested earlier this week after being accused of rape.

Cheney Police Chief Ken Winter confirmed that Officer Grant Cook was arrested on Tuesday following an interview with Sedgwick County Sheriff's investigators.

Winter said the victim reported to a full-time Cheney police officer on Monday. He was notified a short time after.

“We brought in the officer who was accused,” Winter said.

BrassKnot wins Sedgwick County Fair’s Got Talent

TSnews BrassKnot, a brass band made up of Wichita Northwest High School students and alumni, heard the sweet sound of victory as the winners of the Sedgwick County Fair’s Got Talent. BrassKnot won the first place award of $500, as well as the People’s Choice award of $50.
