HAYSVILLE – Butler Community College’s nursing department celebrated 67 new graduates at their bi-annual nurses pinning ceremony at the El Dorado Performing Arts Center on May 15. Nine graduates also completed Butler’s special partnership program with the University of Kansas, simultaneously earning their associate degree from Butler and their bachelor of science in nursing degree from KU.

Staff report TSnews CHENEY – A former Cheney and Goddard boys basketball head coach is stepping away from the court. Lee Baldwin has resigned as the Emporia Wildcats boys head coach to become principal at nearby Burlington High School, Emporia radio station KVOE reported last week.

CHENEY – The honor roll list for Cheney Middle School for the spring semester has been released. Honored students are placed on the principal’s honor roll, honor roll or honorable mention list, based on grade-point average.

CHENEY – Semester honors for spring 2025 at Cheney High School have been handed out. Based on grade-point average, students were named to the principal’s honor roll, the honor roll or honorable mention.

CLEARWATER – The honor roll for the spring semester at Clearwater High School has been released. Students on the honor roll receive one of three honors: the all-A honor roll, the honor roll, and honorable mention.

CONWAY SPRINGS – McPherson College, a fouryear private college located in central Kansas, has announced the names of students earning degrees and graduating from the college on May 10. A complete list of graduates and the ceremony is on the college website, mcpherson.edu/graduation.

SEDGWICK COUNTY – Sedgwick County Tag Offices are making changes to improve the customer experience during the busiest days of the month. Effective immediately, tag offices will no longer handle walk-in title work from the 27th through the 2nd each month, and will instead focus on renewals and select services, to reduce wait times and keep lines moving. During these peak business dates, customers needing title transactions will be required to schedule an appointment.
