TSnews GODDARD – For 24 years, Oak Street Elementary students have enjoyed a Thanksgiving feast during the final days before the holiday break. Lots of students enjoy Thanksgiving meals at school but at Oak Street, students have a hands-on role in preparing the meal that they enjoy and share with many guests.
TSnews HAYSVILLE – For seven years running, Campus High School students have prepared a Thanksgiving meal for students in the CHS international baccalaureate (IB) program. The meal is an opportunity for advanced culinary students to get real-world practice at planning and preparing a large meal.
TSnews The Conway Springs Cardinals football team is positioned to win back-to-back State championships for the first time in 20 years. Not since their run of titles from 2001 to 2004 have the Cardinals won consecutive State titles.
Some plants growing in home landscapes may be difficult to identify or differentiate from similar looking plants. Kansas State University horticulture expert Cynthia Domenghini says she often receives questions related to identifying landscape plants.
7 Years Ago Casey Hostetler, an athlete with the Haysville Hornets Special Olympics sports team, has been awarded one of Special Olympics’ highest awards, the Big 12 Female Athlete of the Year award for 2017-2018. Hostetler is a Haysville resident and the daughter of Leonard and Gloria Hostetler, also residents of Haysville.
Cold temperatures came on quickly in Kansas, and leaves have fallen from most trees. While keeping up with leaves every fall is a challenge, Kansas State University horticulture expert Cynthia Domenghini says the amount of leaf cover on the ground has an impact on the underlying plants.
