From June 1941 John Showman came in last week from Hamilton Field, Calif., to spend a few days with his father, Harry Showman, and other relatives. He brought with him his cousin, Junior Bradley of Los Angeles.

7 Years Ago Rural Haysville resident Donna Tibbits was a lead organizer of the Cushman Club of America's national meet, held at the Kansas State Fairgrounds in Hutchinson from June 11 to 16. Cushmans are motor scooters that were manufactured in the U.S.

10 Years Ago The weekly Cheney Farmer’s Market will be open again this Saturday. The market is open 8 to 11 a.m.

CHENEY – The Cheney Chamber of Commerce got an update on its veterans banners and yard signs, and the project is going well. Chamber members got an update on the banner project at their June meeting last week.

The Clearwater Public Library soon will be able to make its facility more accessible and inclusive to those with disabilities.
