7 Years Ago One woman's curiosity about her family and heritage helped unite the Jacobs family in Haysville with a cousin they never knew they had. Wichita resident Lana Koker said she became very curious about her background because of a long-term arrangement from her family.

Meeting to focus on 1890s Sumner Co. photos

WELLINGTON – The Sumner County Historical and Genealogical Society in Wellington will host “1890s Oxford, Belle Plaine, and Dalton Photographs,” a presentation by Rex Riley, on March 18. The meeting will be at Cowley College’s Short General Education Center, Room 113, 2208 Davis-White Loop, Wellington.

Our goal is to help connect local students with their communities, and provide a direct connection between our schools and the community newspaper.

For Kelly Kennedy – the Chiefs’ fan of the year for the 2023 – this year’s Super Bowl was a once-in-alifetime event.

Goddard pursues grant for pedestrian bridge over highway

TSnews GODDARD – During a special meeting on March 6, the Goddard City Council hired a consulting firm to help city staff apply for a multi-million-dollar federal grant. If Goddard were to win the grant, the Environmental Protection Agency would fund the construction of a pedestrian footbridge over U.S.
