CLEARWATER – The Clearwater City Council has canceled its meeting for next Tuesday, Dec. 26, due to city offices being closed in observance of the Christmas holiday.
CONWAY SPRINGS – A serious issue involving the bookkeeping system at Conway Springs City Hall was discussed at length last week by members of the Conway Springs City Council. Council members noted that the problem goes back several years, and that current City Hall staff members have been trying to resolve the issues, but need more help.
The Kansas State High School Activities Association (KSHSAA) has released the sites for boys and girls regional wrestling tournaments in February. The girls teams from Campus, Eisenhower and Goddard high schools will compete in the Class 6-5A regional, which will take place on Feb.
HAYSVILLE – The City of Haysville is looking for a volunteer to fill a vacant board position on the Haysville Planning Commission. The planning commission meets on the second and fourth Thursday of each month at 6 p.m.
CHENEY – By all accounts, Cheney’s Come Home for Christmas event the first weekend in December was a huge success. The annual event is hosted by the Cheney Chamber of Commerce, and members noted at their recent meeting that every aspect of the event was noteworthy.
GODDARD – A new city park north of US-54 Highway is beginning to take tangible form after action at Monday’s city council meeting. The council approved advertising for requests for proposals for architectural services and project management for the park.
HAYSVILLE – Voting continues for the NFL Fan of the Year. Haysville resident Kelly Kennedy was named as the Kansas City Chiefs’ fan of the year earlier this season, at the season-opening Thursday night home game against the Detroit Lions.
Members of the Argonia-Attica Titans football team have been named to the 8-Man Division I District 3 all-district team. Leading the way is quarterback Dalton Morrison, a senior who was named to the first team as quarterback.
McPherson College, a four-year private college located in central Kansas, recognizes its highest academic achievers in its fall 2023 honor roll and honorable mention. Alivia Lange of Conway Springs was named honorable mention.
