For many students, their high school careers are coming to an end. Graduation season has arrived, and half of the local graduation ceremonies will take place through this weekend.

CONWAY SPRINGS – The Conway Springs High School art show will take place next Tuesday at the high school. All CSHS students will have their artwork on display.

Ingredients 2 pounds fresh asparagus 2 tablespoons butter 1 small onion, diced Trim ends off asparagus and then cut the stalks into one-inch pieces. Put the pieces into a food processor, and process until it is finely chopped.

GODDARD – A man from Goddard perished in a weekend airplane crash in Ellsworth County. Ronnie Thompson, age 77, died when his 1946 Piper fixed wing airplane crashed near Fourth Road and Avenue D, near the town of Wilson.

GODDARD – A ground-breaking ceremony was held recently for the Goddard Apartments, the last addition to Goddard by developer Rodney Steven II. “We are thrilled to celebrate the groundbreaking of the Goddard Apartments, a transformative project that brings 108 much-needed moderate- income housing units to our growing community,” said Goddard city administrator Craig Crossette.

TSnews GODDARD – The Goddard City Council at its April 29 meeting approved a petition and authorizing resolution to begin the process of paving Hawkins Lane, which is the road that serves as the main entrance to Tanganyika Wildlife Park. The city recently annexed the road and properties abutting it.

TSnews GODDARD – A bicyclist in his 60s was sent to the hospital with potentially serious injuries after being hit by a car in northeast Goddard on April 30. Goddard Police Chief Lance Beagley told TSnews that a man was riding a bicycle southbound on 183rd Street West south of Maple.

TSnews GODDARD – A land deal has closed that will bring a Casey’s location to Goddard. Will Harmon of Sperry Ad Astra Commercial made an announcement on social media last week that a sale of the land had been completed.
