GODDARD – Ballet Wichita will give a free performance at 3 p.m. Saturday in Linear Park.

TSnews GODDARD – The Goddard senior center got a boost in funding for 2025, thanks to action taken by the city council at its meeting Monday. The council unanimously approved $46,000 in funding for the center in 2025.

TSnews CONWAY SPRINGS – An interim Chief of Police has been named in Conway Springs, and he introduced himself to the Conway Springs City Council last week. Jesse Velazquez is the new interim chief.

TSnews CLEARWATER – During its meeting Sept. 10, the Clearwater City Council moved toward changing its approach to code enforcement.

TSnews CHENEY – Members of the Cheney Chamber of Commerce heard a presentation on Reality U at their meeting last week. This program was a big success its first time around in the Cheney School District, and Chamber members heard a presentation for a new round of the training event this school year.

CONWAY SPRINGS – The first pair of Artists of the Month have been named at Conway Springs High School. Two students are recognized each month during the school year, and their works are displayed publicly.

CHENEY – Members of the Cheney City Council formally adopted the 2025 budget at last Thursday's regular monthly meeting. The budget passed as presented on a unanimous vote.

TSnews ARGONIA – Council members approved paying several invoices for the Argonia-Dixon Township Fire Department. The invoices included $1,377.16 for racking compartments on the fire truck, $980 for repairs to the air conditioner at the fire barn, and $348 for the ice machine at the fire barn.

Cool-season grasses, like the Kentucky bluegrass and tall fescue lawns common to many parts of Kansas, have had about enough of summer. The state’s high temperatures and sporadic rainfall often cause cool-season varieties to become thin by summer’s end.
