TSnews CHENEY – The City of Cheney has reached a preliminary agreement to annex portions of three local roadways that have belonged to Sedgwick County, and in the process assuming costs for future maintenance. In recent months, the county has worked with several cities to have the cities annex roadways.

Extension Kansas State University horticulture expert Cynthia Domenghini says gardeners have no need to cry when looking for signs to harvest onions. She said onions reach maturity when the tops begin to fall over; when at least one-half of the tops have fallen, it’s time to harvest.

Plant a Row for the Hungry kicks off its 24th year in Sedgwick County this month, by asking all gardeners to plant a little extra this season and share the surplus with those in need throughout our community.
