Just as humans crave a cold drink during the sweltering heat of the summer, the same holds true for dogs and cats. Kansas State University animal nutrition expert Greg Aldrich says that water needs can increase for pets during the summer months.

CLEARWATER – Ten local veterans were recognized with handmade quilts during a ceremony on July 11 at the First Baptist Church. Known as Quilts of Valor, the quilts are made by members of the Ole Sew and Sews.

Sixty-five local men gathered at the State Bank Tuesday to fill out questionnaires and applications for obtaining work here on projects financed by the Federal Relief Commission. The applications have been sent to Topeka for classification and the applicants will be notified as to the working schedules permitted them.
