HAYSVILLE – For at least two generations, Kelly Kennedy has been the head swim coach for the Haysville Piranhas youth swim club. He was hired, fired, rehired, resigned, and came back.
Home gardeners face the problem of tomato cracking, or hard cracks on the upper part of the fruit, usually spanning from or around the stem. While the cracks do not necessarily ruin the tomato, they are unsightly, said Kansas State University horticulture expert Ward Upham.

CHENEY – Members of the Cheney Chamber of Commerce are working to put the finishing touches on a project to honor local veterans. At their meeting last week, members reviewed the final options for putting out veteran banners in the community.
HAYSVILLE – The Haysville Chamber of Commerce members gathered last Thursday at WSU Haysville for the monthly meeting. The Chamber is getting geared up for its annual golf tournament at the end of August.

TSnews HAYSVILLE – The city of Haysville will get financial help to build a bike-pedestrian pathway. City council members held a special meeting Monday to approve an agreement with the Kansas Department of Transportation to partner on the project.
Coe College is recognizing its highest-performing students as members of the dean's list, including Ellie Jones, who is currently among this group. Jones, of Haysville, has been named to the spring 2023 dean's list at Coe in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
