CHENEY – Members of the Cheney Chamber of Commerce are working to put the finishing touches on a project to honor local veterans. At their meeting last week, members reviewed the final options for putting out veteran banners in the community.

HAYSVILLE – The Haysville Chamber of Commerce members gathered last Thursday at WSU Haysville for the monthly meeting. The Chamber is getting geared up for its annual golf tournament at the end of August.

TSnews HAYSVILLE – The city of Haysville will get financial help to build a bike-pedestrian pathway. City council members held a special meeting Monday to approve an agreement with the Kansas Department of Transportation to partner on the project.

Coe College is recognizing its highest-performing students as members of the dean's list, including Ellie Jones, who is currently among this group. Jones, of Haysville, has been named to the spring 2023 dean's list at Coe in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Mayor Hunt is in receipt of a letter from Corp. Ralph Kerschen, who is a mechanic in the Army Air Corps base at Fort Sumner, N.M.

CLEARWATER – The Clearwater Public Library is looking for an adult volunteer to help lead its Books & Beyond teen club. The club meets on the first and third Wednesday of each month, starting after school at approximately 3:30 p.m.

Barton Community College has named 233 students to the president’s list for the spring 2023 semester. To qualify for this honor, students must have been enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours and maintained a grade point average of 4.0 on a 4.0 or 'A' letter scale.

HAYSVILLE – Dawsen Crum of Haysville graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology with a degree in biomedical engineering (BS). The school is located in Rochester, N.Y.
