The high school graduation season continues this weekend, as the last commencement ceremonies in the area take place. Two graduations are slated for Saturday.

USD 356 approves leadership changes

Longtime educator and coach Matt Biehler was named as the new Conway Springs High School principal at a special meeting of the USD 356 Conway Springs Board of Education meeting a month ago.

Presentation to focus on Revolutionary War soldiers

WELLINGTON – As part of the America 250 celebration, the Sumner County Historical and Genealogical Society will host the “The Patriot’s Chest: Things a Revolutionary War Soldier Might Carry,” presented by the Washington Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution.

Haysville library plans stuffed animal sleepover

HAYSVILLE – On May 22, the Haysville Community Library will host a stuffed animal sleepover. Starting at 4 p.m., children can bring a stuffed animal, enjoy story time, do a craft, and then pick up their animals in the morning.

Letter carrier food drive is Saturday

This Saturday marks the 33nd anniversary of the Letter Carriers Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. It is the largest one-day food drive in the nation. National Association Letter carriers are in the communities they serve every day and often come face to face with a sad reality for too many – hunger.
