TSnews CONWAY SPRINGS – Members of the Conway Springs City Council got an important update on the historic Cranmer House in the community at their meeting last week. The update was presented by Nancy Roth, who serves on the Historic Board Committee.

TSnews CLEARWATER – The Clearwater City Council adopted a 2027 budget Aug. 25 that holds the city’s property tax rate flat at 52.695 mills.

This week is the first full week for high school sports, and things are in flux because of the hot weather. Numerous schedule changes are being necessitated by temperatures topping 100 degrees.

Staff report TSnews GODDARD – Multiple school buildings in Goddard were locked down following a bomb threat earlier Tuesday morning. According to multiple reports, both Goddard High School and Andover High School received bomb threats.

TSnews CHENEY – The Cheney Senior Center has a new AED (automated external defibrillator), thanks to a donation by one of its new members.

TSnews The Labor Day holiday is often considered the unofficial end of summer, but Mother Nature will be ignoring any such thoughts. High temperatures have been over 100 degrees all week, and the forecast calls for highs of at least 100 through next Wednesday.

TSnews CONWAY SPRINGS – Longtime coach and educator Fred Cottrell will be recognized before kickoff at this Friday’s football game between the host Conway Springs Cardinals and the visiting Douglass Bulldogs.

SUMNER COUNTY – A burn ban has been issued for Sumner County that will run through Sept. 11.
