From April 1899 Some of the editors that are so dead sure that there will not be enough peaches in Kansas this year to give a little boy the cramps, ought to be prohibited from even receiving samples from subscribers if we do happen to have any peaches. The editors’ think tanks are all being taxed to the very limit this spring in trying to say something nice enough to do justice to the millinery stores.

7 Years Ago Oatville Elementary School will see another round of work this summer as the Haysville School District’s bond projects move toward completion. Much of the work in the $59 million bond was done last summer or will be done this summer, all to minimize disruptions to students.

K-State hands out Alumni Club scholarships

Sixty-one Wichita area students have been awarded scholarships to Kansas State University totaling $49,750. The scholarships were awarded on April 8 by the Wichita Area K-State Alumni Club, K-State Alumni Association, Compton Family Endowment, McCandless Family Endowment, Vanguard Endowment, the Ed Frey and BJ Wells Family, the Schawe Family and the Trumble Family/Baird Private Wealth Management. Fifty-three of those students were awarded alumni scholarships.
