Argonia girls ride defense past Udall

Body TSnews The Argonia Raiders girls basketball team used a strong defensive effort to down Udall 47-27 last Tuesday. The Raiders led 15-6 after the opening period and 21-12 at the half, then used a strong third period to take a 36-17 lead to the fourth quarter.

Tigers top Salina team

Body The Eisenhower Tigers picked up a pair of wins in a dual with the Salina Central Mustangs. The boys won 2492-2150 and the girls won 2001-1609. The dual was held last Thursday.Jamie Duty of Eisenhower had the only 700-plus series, bowling 747 to place first.

Tigers do well at Andover

Body The Eisenhower Tigers headed to Andover last weekend for a tournament and had 10 wrestlers – nine girls and a boy – finish in the top 10.

Raiders fall short of OT upset

Body The Argonia Raiders boys basketball team came painfully close to an upset of a tough Oxford Wildcats team last Friday night in Argonia. The Raiders took Oxford to overtime before ultimately dropping a 55-52 decision to fall to 2-10 on the season.

Lions roar at Rocky Welton

Body The Goddard Lions boys wrestling team made some noise last weekend when it competed at the always-tough Rocky Welton Invitational in Garden City. On the boys’ side, the Lions finished third as a team, with three wrestlers winning titles and three more finishing in the top five.
