CONWAY SPRINGS –Discussions continued at last week's Conway Springs City Council meeting concerning recent dog complaints that the city has been trying to address. Debbie Pauly discussed dogs running around town and onto her personal property.

City to move forward on grant to rehab homes

HAYSVILLE – The Haysville City Council at its Nov. 12 meeting authorized the city to apply for the Kansas Small Cities Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), which would help low- to moderate- income Haysville residents with home rehabilitation.

Cheney annexes roadways into the city limits

CHENEY – Concluding a months-long negotiation process with Sedgwick County, the Cheney City Council last Thursday voted to annex portions of three roadways into the city limits. Ordinance 959 gives a legal description for 14 different tracts.

Goddard approves resolution on single hauler for trash

GODDARD – The Goddard City Council on Monday approved a resolution of intent on single hauler waste and recycling. The resolution of intent (ROI) does not mean the city will adopt a single- hauler system, but it does allow the city to continue the process of moving toward that option.

CLEARWATER – The Sedgwick County Sheriff's Department is beginning an investigation into a
possible death in Clearwater. The following announcement was shared with the media at 3:30 p.m.
Thursday, Nov. 14:
“On Thursday, November 14, 2024, at approximately 10:21 AM, the Clearwater Police Department and
Sedgwick County EMS responded to a call reporting a possible death inside a residence in the 300
block of S. Tracy in Clearwater.
“Upon arrival, officers and EMS personnel found 45-year-old Melina Hinkle of Clearwater deceased
