GODDARD – With continued growth in and around the city of Goddard and in west Wichita, leaders at Goddard Public Schools are expecting significant growth over the coming years. To be prepared for that growth, a steering committee has been formed with more than 50 parents, staff and community leaders.
HAYSVILLE – The long-running Living History Rendezvous is returning to Haysville this weekend. This year’s event will honor the late Cathy Hurley, who was a key organizer for many years.
TSnews CHENEY – Four members of the Cheney High School FFA (Future Farmers of America) attended last week’s 97th annual National FFA Convention and Expo, which was held in Indianapolis. While there, the members accepted the club’s first-ever national award, the National Chapter Award.

TSnews James Allen loves to build with LEGO bricks. That was the inspiration for a woodworking project that earned a “Kansas 4-H Engineering Technology Best in Show Exhibit” award at the Kansas State Fair this year.
TSnews Sisters Kellyann and Blayr Nance are members of the Happy Hustlers 4-H Club. Both had fun with 4-H projects over the summer and earned plaudits, advancing to the Kansas State Fair.
TSnews Cheney Challengers 4-Her Erika Wiese had a busy Fair this year. In addition to showing goats, she entered several arts and crafts and photograph projects, including a leather project that went on to receive a purple ribbon at the Kansas State Fair.
TSnews Quail Valley 4-H Club member Jenny Kerschen was recognized at both the Sedgwick County Fair and the Kansas State Fair for a photo she took of a barn at sunset. “We have this old barn at our farm, and I tried a whole bunch of different angles, trying to get the clouds in the background,” Kerschen said.
