GARDEN PLAIN – Kansas singer and songwriter Katie Ziegler will perform on Saturday night as part of a new Concert in the Park series in Garden Plain. Ziegler will perform from 8 to 9:30 p.m.

HAYSVILLE – This year’s Haysville National Night Out event will take place next Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Dewey Gunzelman Pool.

CONWAY SpRINGS – The Conway Springs Cardinals 4-H Club had been preparing for months and finally, it was time – time to show off their projects and livestock in the Sumner County 4-H Fair. The static entry judging was July 9-13 in Wellington and livestock events were July 19-20 in South Haven.

CLEARWATER – Brielle Ives of Clearwater will be part of the cast of “Matilda” in next week's run of shows put on by Music Theatre Wichita. She is playing the character of Alice.

The Cheney City Council members agreed to spend $153,640 on a new park shelter at the Cheney Sports Complex, located at 731 S. Main, at the south end of Main Street.

GARDEN PLAIN – At the Sedgwick County Board of County Commissioners meeting on July 10, Garden Plain resident Kurt Carter was appointed to the Sedgwick County Advisory Council on Aging and Physical Disabilities.
