Body 7 Years Ago The Campus Colts Swim To A Wish team exceeded its fundraising goal, raising more than $11,000 for the Kansas Make-A-Wish Foundation over the weekend. Make-A-Wish grants “wishes”- often family cruises or theme park trips- to seriously ill children.

Community center to reopen

Body GODDARD – After months of work, the Goddard Community Center is set to reopen. A ribbon cutting and open house will take place Monday from 5 to 7 p.m.

Patterson graduates

Body CHENEY – Trey Bryan Patterson of Cheney was among 1,159 graduates who received degrees from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln during commencement exercises Dec. 15 and 16 at Pinnacle Bank Arena.

New business features same local operators

Body HAYSVILLE – The introduction of the new Barista Blends in Haysville did not take long. The new business opened in the same building as the old Buffalo Brew Coffee Company, almost immediately after Buffalo Brew's last day in business.
Barista Blends is now open at 7103 S. Broadway in Haysville. It is the same building and location as the coffee shop that opened last July, but with local ownership. Owners David and Tish Henderson, pictured at right, are seen with their employees. Contributed photo

World Day of Prayer event planned

Body CHENEY – A World Day of Prayer event is set for Friday, March 1, at Trinity United Christian Church in Cheney. The church is located at 416 N. Washington, and any women in the area are invited to come at 9:30 a.m.
