HAYSVILLE – A 1-percent sales tax in Haysville that has helped fund street maintenance repairs and park improvements for a decade will end because of one vote. The 1-percent sales tax will sunset at the end of the year after the renewal of the sales tax failed by a single vote, 473 against and 472 in favor.

GODDARD – The Goddard Education Foundation is seeking the public’s help to nominate alumni, retired staff, athletic and activity teams, and friends of Goddard Public Schools for the Goddard Hall of Fame Class of 2024.

CHENEY – Next up for the Cheney Chamber of Commerce will be the annual Come Home For Christmas celebration, set for Saturday, Dec. 2.

About four inches of rain fell here last Saturday afternoon and it came all at once. The clouds assembled again that night and put on a real celebration with lightning, wind, and dashing rain.

A special meeting of the Board of Education was held to review the bus routes. The main concern voiced by patrons was over the south Milan bus route.

Haysville Community Outreach will distribute food and toys to families in the Haysville School District for the Christmas season. Members of the community are invited to volunteer to help make the distribution possible.
