Sheriff investigating Sunday crash

The Sumner County Sheriff ’s Office is investigating a two vehicle crash that occurred Sunday evening. According to the sheriff ’s office, the call came in at 6:14 p.m, and was reported from the 1200 block on K-49 Highway North.

While Haysville doesn't yet have properties listed on the National and/or State Register of Historic Places, residents have been forward-thinking in preparing for that possibility. At Monday's city council meeting, Katrina Ringler, certified local government coordinator for the Kansas Historical Society, celebrated Haysville's placement on a list of 18 CLGs throughout Kansas.

Ingredients 1 cup quick oats 1 cup flour 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/4 cup and 4 tablespoons maple syrup, divided 4 tablespoons butter, room temperature 4 teaspoons cinnamon, divided 1 egg 2 sweet apples (I used golden delicious), diced 1 teaspoon cornstarch Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Prepare an eight-by-eight-inch baking pan by lining it with parchment paper, and set it aside.

Former educators take part in Alaskan expedition

TSnews HAYSVILLE – To celebrate both of their retirements from Haysville USD 261, Michael and Jerri Clagg took an Alaskan cruise, where they ended up going on a little bit of a research expedition. “We had done traditional cruises before and wanted something different this time,” Michael said.

Fall harvest yields poor results

TSnews Between the constant drought and lack of rain, fall harvest was disappointing for area producers. According to Sumner County Extension agriculture agent Randy Hein, the rain that negatively impacted wheat crops gave mixed results to fall crops, and it was not enough for many producers to offset the lack of rain.

Cook breaks barriers as VFW commander

TSnews HAYSVILLE – Evelyn Cook made history in two ways last June when she became commander of the Keever-Wire VFW Post 6957. She became the post’s first Black commander and first female commander.
