Parade kicks off homecoming week

GARDEN PLAIN – Homecoming week at Garden Plain High School kicks off this Sunday with the annual homecoming parade and pep rally. The parade will begin at 5:30 p.m., and will proceed north along Main Street and then go to the football field.

On Friday morning, the Kansas Department of Health and Environment issued boil orders for the City of Garden Plain and for the Cheney State Park Marina public water supply, which is supplied by the City of Garden Plain water system.

Customers should observe the following precautions until further notice:

• Boil water for one minute prior to drinking or food preparation or use bottled water.

• Dispose of ice cubes and do not use ice from a household automatic icemaker.
