Argonia schools name honor roll students

ARGONIA – Argonia High School and Argonia Junior High School have named honor roll students for the second semester of the 2022-23 school year. Students earning a grade-point average of 3.7 and higher were named to the “A” honor roll.

Students chosen for camp in Colorado

CONWAY SPRINGS – Haylee Osner and Mya Devine Scott, both juniors at Conway Springs High School, have been selected to represent Wheatland Electric Cooperative at the Cooperative Youth Leadership Camp this summer. They were recognized at WEC’s annual meeting and 75th-anniversary celebration in Scott City on April 26.

Nominate the Citizen of the Year

HAYSVILLE – Nominations are being accepted through May 30 for the Haysville Citizen of the Year. This award is presented annually by the Haysville Park Board and honors one individual for his or her positive impact on the Haysville community.

The ceiling of the Farmers and Merchants insurance office fell causing considerable damage to the contents. The weight of the insulation was too great for the method used in fastening the fiber blocks to the joists. The job had been completed within the past year.

Several Campus High School track and field athletes have qualified for the State meet. For the boys team, the Colts’ Federico Harvey was the standout at regionals last week. His triple jump mark of 45-6.5 was a personal best and was also the best performance out of all four Class 6A regionals. Harvey also won the 400-meter race and contributed to Campus’s first-place finish in the 4x400 meter relay.

Waltrip recognized at scholarship dinner

Central College’s 23rd annual scholarship dinner on April 20 honored donors, students and families who were seated together to share a meal, conversation and program. More than 500 attended the event.

Burdick named K-State ambassador

The College of Health and Human Sciences and Kansas State University has named its 2023-2024 student ambassadors. The student ambassadors work onand off-campus to promote the college to alumni, friends, prospective students and families, and current K-State students.
