Other city elections should be more routine Goddard city voters will have numerous candidates to choose from at the end of a year that saw a lot of controversy, including the departure of a mayor/city council member, the firing of the city administrator and the departure of another top staffer. The surprise changes earlier this year led to the return of Hunter Larkin to the position of mayor, a position he resigned from in 2022 after allegations of improper relations with developers who were funding a possible Statehouse campaign and had business before the Goddard City Council.

Clearwater American Legion Post 93 held its annual Memorial Day ceremony on Monday morning. Because of the threat of bad weather, the event was moved to First Baptist Church in Clearwater.
