Body UPDATED:   Leslie D. Finstad, Sr., of Conway Springs, age 77, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2023. He was preceded in death by his wife, Orvetta “Diane” (Staley) Finstad; father, Raymond Finstad; mother, June Nighswonger-Smith; step-father, J.A.

Body Steve A. Mercer, 71, of rural Argonia, passed away Thursday, Dec. 7, 2023, at his residence. He was born Oct. 15, 1952, in Wellington to Vern Wise Mercer and Josephine (Sneeringer) Mercer.

Body Crystal Kay Leasure Holub was born on July 6, 1957 in Manhattan, Kansas to Elden and Sylvia (Helmke) Leasure. She passed away on Dec. 7, 2023.

Body Jane Kay Bearden, of rural Garden Plain, passed away peacefully in the Lord’s arms at Cheney Golden Age Home on Dec. 6, 2023. Jane was a kind-hearted sister, aunt, daughter and wife.

Body Wayne Kent Henson, 82, of Norwich, passed away peacefully Monday, December 4, 2023 at Main St. Villa, Cheney, Kansas with his two sons by his side.

Body Georgette Lamar (née Santamaria) passed away peacefully on the morning of Dec. 4, 2023, surrounded by loved ones in her home in Belle Plaine at the age of 81. Georgette was born on May 6, 1942, to Joseph and Marceline Santamaria (née Pappalardo) in Rabat, Morocco.

Body Cathy Yvonne Hurley, 71, passed away Friday, Dec. 1, 2023. She was born Dec. 23, 1951, to Robert and Rosalie Craine, in Oakley. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.

Body Leonard William Henry Voss, 94, of Cheney, entered his eternal heavenly home on Dec. 4, 2023. Leonard was born on June 7, 1929, at the farm home of his parents, Anna and Otto Voss. He graduated from Cheney High School in 1947 and met his future bride on a blind date.

Body Randal Duane Holley, 57, of Cheney, passed away Thursday, Nov. 30, 2023, in Wichita. Randal was born in Wichita on May 30, 1966, to Gary and Irene (Ruebke) Holley. When he was one month old, they moved out to the farm in Cheney.

Body Lance E. Ross, 63, died November 29, 2023.
