LeRoy Pierce, a cowboy, entertainer, jokester, and leather craftsman, passed away in the comfort of his home on October 24th, 2023, at the age of 93.
LeRoy was born Aug. 6, 1930, to Orville Aaron Pierce and Tabea (Eichman) Pierce in Trego Center, Kan. He moved throughout his childhood years until the family settled in Hill City, Kan. At the age of 10, LeRoy suffered a bone infection in his hip which impacted the rest of his life. He graduated from WaKeeney High School with the class of 1949.
Derek "D.J." Horsch, 35, Ag mechanic passed away surrounded by his family on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 He was preceded in death by his grandfather; Lloyd Kane and grandparents; Elmer & Loretta Horsch. D.J. is survived by his parents; Joseph & Karen Horsch. Son; Landen. Brothers Ryan Diener and Austin (Joni) Horsch. Grandmother; Virginia Kane and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Recitation of the Rosary will be said at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 23, 2023 followed by a Celebration of Life both at the Wulf-Ast Mortuary--Garden Plain Chapel.

Maxine Holden of Argonia passed away on Sept. 16, 2023. A memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Parish, Danville.

Preceded in death by parents, Darrell and Margaret Welty; siblings, Betty Kathryn Lammon, William and Richard Welty. Survivors: husband, Gene Scoular; children, Diana (Nathan) Schroeder of Altadena, CA and Darrell Scoular of Nashua, NH; 3 grandchildren.
