Virgil Ernest “Ernie” Love, age 92, retired KG&E Murray Gill Substation shift foreman, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 3, 2023, after an 11-month battle with cancer.
Visitation will be at 9 a.m. Friday, Sept. 8, at Westwood Presbyterian Church, Wichita, with the funeral service to follow at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Oatville.
Mary Ann (Coslett) Love, retired bookkeeper and farmwife, age 84, of Clearwater, passed away Thursday, Aug. 31, 2023.
Visitation will be noon-5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept 5, at Webb-Shinkle Mortuary. Service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6, at First Christian Church, Clearwater.
Mary Ann will be remembered for her loving, social nature, which made her the center of a wide group of family and friends. She was born on Monday, Sept. 12, 1938, in Harper, to her parents, Edward D. and M. Nadine (Maltbie) Coslett, as the first of their three children.
Jeffrey Scot Beauchamp, 62, passed away on Aug. 14, 2023. He was born to Billy Ray and Don Beauchamp on April 28, 1961, in Wichita. Jeff graduated from Cheney High School in 1979. He joined the U.S. Army in 1984 and served in the 82nd Airborne Division out of Fort Bragg, N.C.
Jan Drouhard was born in Wichita on Sept. 21, 1949. She was raised by her mother and stepfather, Helen and Gene Weaver, in Wichita where she attended school, graduating from North High School with the class 1967.
Celeste G. Stuhlsatz, 94, formerly of Conway Springs, died Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at Presbyterian Manor, Wichita.
Celeste was born April 6, 1929 at Clonmel to John Baptiste May and Elizabeth (Nett) May. She attended parochial schools and graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in Wichita. She attended Kansas Newman University and the University of Oklahoma. She received her master’s degree in humanities.
Kenneth Howard Shipley, 83, passed away on July 23, 2023 at the Cheney Golden Age Home. The only child of Howard and Ruth Shipley, he lived on a farm near Garden Plain until age 15, when the family moved to Cheney, Kansas. Kenny graduated from Cheney High School in 1958 and attended Hutchinson Junior College and Pittsburg State.
Marilyn Ann (Mies) Peterson, 63, of Conway Springs, died Sunday, July 23, 2023, at Ascension Via Christi-St. Francis, Wichita.
Marilyn was born Jan. 4, 1960, at Wichita to Nicklaus Matthew Mies and LaVern Clara (Koster) Mies. She grew up in Conway Springs, where she attended Conway Springs public schools. She graduated from Conway Springs High School with the class of 1979.
She was united in marriage to Timothy Earl Peterson on Sept. 8, 1979, in Conway Springs. They made their home in Argonia. They moved to Conway Springs in 2016 and made their home at 129 S. Highland.
Mark Alan Loehr, 69, died July 16, 2023, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.
