Goddard holds off Eisenhower comeback for rivalry win TSnews The Goddard Lions dominated the first part of Friday’s crosstown rivalry football game, scoring 22 straight points before the Eisenhower Tigers – trying to protect their undefeated regular season – rallied. That rally came up just a bit short, and the Lions won 22-14 in the regular-season finale for both teams.

TSnews A rough second quarter was the difference as the Campus Colts football team lost to the Maize Eagles 48-32 last Friday at Colt Stadium. The Colts’ offense put up some big numbers and gave the Colts a lead after the first quarter.

TSnews The Garden Plain Owls outscored the Kingman Eagles 22-6 in the second half, coming back from a 13-point first-half deficit for a 28-25 victory in last Friday’s home football game. The win gives the Owls the Class 2A District 6 championship, two home playoff games, and revenge for last year’s 33-point defeat.

TSnews The Clearwater Indians fell into an early hole during last Friday’s football game at the Chapman Fighting Irish, falling 38-13. The Fighting Irish jumped out to a 24-0 second-quarter lead with a pair of rushing touchdowns and a passing touchdown.

TSnews The Campus Colts volleyball team came painfully close to winning a substate title last Saturday and advancing to the Class 6A State tournament. The Colts defeated Topeka 25-11, 25-22 in the substate semifinals at Garden City and battled the host Buffaloes for three sets in the championship match before falling 15-25, 25-21, 22-25.

TSnews A pair of fourth-quarter touchdowns helped the Oxford Wildcats football team to a come-from-behind, 34-28 win over the Argonia-Attica Titans in Attica on Friday night. The loss drops the Titans into fourth place in 8-man Div.
