TSnews The Garden Plain Owls put together a strong second half to win last Friday’s homecoming football game against the Haven Wildcats, 44-19. Leading 20-13 at halftime, the Owls outscored the Wildcats 24-6 after the break.

TSnews The Campus Colts boys soccer team struggled on the pitch last week, losing a blowout at Maize South on Sept. 26, 10-0, then losing a more competitive game versus Hutchinson on Saturday, 2-0.

A&A Titans get back in win column

TSnews The Argonia-Attica Titans football team got back in the win column with last Friday’s 56-12 victory at the Independent Panthers in Wichita. The Titans put up 24 first-half points including a safety by Carter Wingle on a sack in the end zone, and led 24-6 at halftime.

Indians survive battle with Trinity Knights

TSnews The Clearwater Indians survived a battle with the Trinity Academy Knights last Friday, winning their second football game of the year with a 36-30 victory in Wichita. It was the Indians’ first victory since their Week 1 win at El Dorado, and was important in helping the Indians stay in the playoff hunt in Class 3A District 6.

Tigers stay perfect with win at Andover

TSnews Eisenhower quarterback Derek Morgan connected with receiver Carter Pabst for three touchdowns, and Lucas Dickman broke free for 187 yards and a touchdown as the Tigers’ football team routed the host Andover Trojans 34-0 last Friday. The blowout win kept the Tigers’ record perfect at 5-0, one of just two undefeated teams in all of Class 5A.

KSHSAA announces classification changes

The Kansas State High School Activities Association (KSHSAA) last week announced classification changes for the 2023-24 school year, and for the two-year football cycle that begins in autumn 2024. There was only one change directly involving schools in the TSnews coverage area.
Argonia-Attica Titans football player Andrew Bennett helps a Central Raider player off the turf during the teams’ recent contest. The Titans will move to 8-Man Division II football for the 2024 and 2025 seasons. They currently play in Division I.
