The Garden Plain Owls wrestling team had five wrestlers place at the Ellsworth Wrestling Tournament last Saturday to kick off the new year in solid fashion. “Ellsworth is a tough tournament with lots of good teams,” Garden Plain coach Travis Daerr said.

Lions take third at Dodge City

The Goddard Lions boys and girls wrestling teams headed to Dodge City last Friday and Saturday for the Dodge City Invite, with the boys winning five individual titles and just missing out on winning the tournament.

Campus girls get huge victory, end long slide

The Campus Colts girls basketball had a big moment on Friday afternoon, beating the Wichita West Pioneers 55-15. The game, originally set for Friday morning at Park City Arena as part of the GWAL-AVCTL Challenge, was played in the afternoon and relocated to Wichita South.

Lady Owls down Dodge City

The Garden Plain girls basketball team improved its record to 4-3 with a 48-35 home win over the Dodge City Red Demons. It was the Owls’ only game last week.

Strong second quarter lifts Cardinals

The Conway Springs Cardinals boys basketball team used a strong second quarter to take a 61-41 win over the Belle Plaine Dragons last Tuesday and begin the new year with a win. The Cardinals led 10-5 after the opening period, but scored 21 points in the second quarter and took a 31-13 lead to the locker room.
