Campus swimmers win at home

TSnews The Campus Colts swimming and diving team dominated in last Thursday’s home meet, an eight-team competition that saw the Colts nearly double the points of their next-closest competitor. The Colts won with 640 points, while Derby (326) and Independence (316) placed second and third.

Clearwater girls third at Kingman Eagle Classic

TSnews The Clearwater Indians girls basketball team shook off a loss to Great Bend on the first night of the Kingman Eagle Classic to take third at the annual tournament last Saturday. After falling to Great Bend last Thursday, the Indians beat Sterling last Friday and downed Meade 47-34 last Saturday to bring home the third-place trophy.

Argonia bounces back for fifth at Border Queen

TSnews The Argonia Raiders girls basketball team overcame a firstround loss to South Haven at the Border Queen Tournament to win its next two games and take fifth at the annual tournament in southern Sumner County. After falling to the Cardinals last Tuesday, the Raiders beat Udall last Friday and downed Douglass 33-10 in last Saturday’s fifth-place contest.

Campus boys wrestle to third at Hesston invite

TSnews The Campus Colts boys and girls wrestling teams turned in a pair of strong performances over the weekend, with the boys taking third at the Hesston Invitational last Saturday and the girls taking fifth last Friday at the Douglass Goodwill invite. On the boys side, Trent Willis (113 pounds) won a title, while Christian Marsh (144) finished second, the trio of Terrance Wallace (120), Dominic Trujillo (138) and Aiden Weaver (190) finished third and Remington Pugh (285) finished fourth.
