TSnews GARDEN PLAIN – Crews from multiple fire stations and several agencies teamed up to fight a large barn fire Sunday afternoon north of Garden Plain. The fire happened on a farm near the intersection of 279th Street West and 4th Avenue North (Central), about 1.5 miles north and one mile east of the Garden Plain exit on U.S.

CALDWELL – The Sumner County Fair takes place this Thursday through Sunday in Caldwell. This year’s theme is “Rock ‘N Roll to the 2023 Sumner County Fair” and it celebrates 96 years of the Sumner County Fair.

ARGONIA – A free pool party for students in the USD 359 school district is set for Friday night. The back-to-school party will run 6:30-8:30 p.m., and is for students enrolled in Argonia schools and their families.

CONWAY SPRINGS – Beginning in August, there'll just be one Conway Springs City Council meeting a month moving forward. At their meeting last week, members of the Conway Springs City Council agreed with a recommendation from Mayor Daryle Smith, who suggested the council look at once-a-month meetings, rather than the two meetings a month that had been the council's practice.
