HAYSVILLE – The annual spring fundraiser is going on at the Haysville Community Library, and will run through April 30. For $7, choose a toy, a bookmark, a book and a backpack.

Spice Up Your Life Something I love about Joey is that he is often quite willing to jump into a grand kitchen experiment with me. Recently, that was when I pulled out my pasta roller, and instead of merely making noodles, as I have so far since I bought it, I proposed creating ravioli from scratch.

Ingredients 2 tablespoons olive oil 1 medium yellow onion, diced 6-8 cloves garlic, minced 1 pound ground beef 1/2 cup white wine 16 ounces fresh spinach 1 cup breadcrumbs (I used panko) 1/2 rounded cup parmesan cheese, grated garlic salt and pepper, to taste 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg 8 ounces ricotta cheese batch of fresh pasta dough.

Temperatures topped 90 degrees last week on Thursday, giving people in south-central Kansas an early taste of summer. The official high in Wichita at Eisenhower National Airport was 93 degrees. The old record for high temperature on March 26 was set in 1918.

TSnews CLEARWATER – The Clearwater City Council voted March 24 to accept a $100,000 offer from Hammers LLC on a 9.353-acre parcel of cityowned land near 135th Street and Diagonal Road, adding conditions aimed at ensuring the property is developed. The offer amounts to roughly $10,691 per acre – approximately what the city originally paid for the land.

TSnews GODDARD – The fifth annual Larry Lee Memorial Car Show will take place on Saturday. The event on Main Street in downtown Goddard will run 11 a.m.

TSnews HAYSVILLE – The Central States Metal Artisans will be hosting a demonstration and workshop featuring world-renowned metal artist David Barnhill on May 15, 16 and 17 at the Haysville Blacksmith Shop, located at 200 S. Main St.
