HAYSVILLE – Several community events are planned for this Saturday in Haysville. The day will begin with the opening of the Haysville Hometown Market for the season.

The Kansas Water Office’s (KWO) Red Hills Regional Advisory Committee (RAC) will have a meeting to discuss current water issues affecting the region as well as the state. The meeting will be at 10:30 a.m.

HAYSVILLE – The Haysville Senior Center is hosting “Donuts and Coffee with Mayor Kessler,” featuring Haysville Mayor Russ Kessler, on Monday. The event will begin at 9 a.m.

TSnews GARDEN PLAIN – Animals at the Kingman County Humane Society (KCHS) are getting some extra care and attention thanks to one Garden Plain youth. Rory Weber, age 9, is partnering with a staff member at the humane society to raise money for the shelter animals.

A newly formed group of Kansas State University education majors from rural communities is taking the bull by the horns and addressing teacher supply by encouraging students from rural areas to return home after graduation and others to consider teaching in a rural district.
