GODDARD – Guests staying at Goddard hotels will soon start paying a higher transient guest tax, thanks to action taken at Monday’s Goddard City Council meeting. The council approved a charter ordinance establishing a new transient guest tax (TGT) rate of 9 percent.

CHENEY – Sports are big in America, and Cheney Physical Therapy is betting big on sports and fitness with a new facility that opened this summer on south Main Street. The new facility had a soft opening in late May and an official opening in mid-June.

HAYSVILLE – With summer vacation nearly over and classes starting soon, Haysville Public Schools is holding open houses next week. Middle school open houses for sixth grade only will be on Monday.

Most local schools will start welcoming back students starting next week, with two more districts beginning classes the following week. Goddard is the first to start school, with students returning on Monday.
