Fun planned for Saturday’s Argonia Days
ARGONIA – The annual Argonia Days community celebration will take place on Saturday. The day kicks off with the parade at 10 a.m.
Dixie Selenke retires from USPS after serving many communities
GARDEN PLAIN – After 15 years, Dixie Selenke of Viola has retired from the United States Postal Service. She finished her career with a quiet Thursday afternoon at the Garden Plain post office, on May 1.
Goddard school bond issue fails
A proposed $196 million bond in the Goddard School District failed to get approval from a majority of voters, according to unofficial results released on Tuesday night. There were 2,541 “no” votes and 2,053 “yes” votes, meaning the measure failed 55 percent to 45 percent.

Orphan trains topic of Monday meeting
SUMNER COUNTY – The Sumner County Historical and Genealogical Society in Wellington will host “The Orphan Trains of Sumner County,” a presentation by Jim Bales, this Monday in Wellington. The presentation will begin at 6:30 p.m.
