Scammer targets DA; warns of online threats

SEDGWICK COUNTY – Sedgwick County District Attorney Marc Bennett is warning people not to click any links or buttons that resemble bank or savings information. Bennett himself received a scam email and a blue button that read “refund your money.” Clicking the button could introduce malware into your computer or phone.
Sedgwick County District Attorney Marc Bennett and another investigator in the DA's office were recently targeted by scammers. Scams are common in emails like the one at left, and in text messages.

John Hillman, a larger-than-life personality in Cheney known throughout the region as an auctioneer and real estate broker, died after a long battle with cancer. Hillman was an auctioneer for 34 years and spent most of that time working hand-in-hand with Roger Zerener and Fred Foley.
