TSnews GODDARD – The Goddard city council tabled action on a proposed contract for code enforcement during its first meeting of the new year on Jan. 21.

TSnews CHENEY – New Sedgwick County Fair Board president Marc Yung introduced himself and gave a short background on his family and history with fairs at the January meeting of the Sedgwick County Fair Association.

GARDEN PLAIN – Adults can relive their youth in March at the Garden Plain Chamber of Commerce adult prom. The event will run 7-11 p.m.

TSnews A number of Kansas high schools and high school athletic leagues have adopted the 35-second shot clock this season. However, this is a voluntary test run, and many schools – mostly smaller ones – are waiting to adopt the shot clock, which is ubiquitous at the college and professional levels.

Throughout 2025, the Wichita-Sedgwick County Historical Museum is offering free admission on Sundays. The free Sundays have been offered since 2022 thanks to a gift from the Ruth Spooner Stone Charitable Trust and Instrust Bank.
