HAYSVILLE – The Haysville Fall Festival medallion hunt kicked off on Wednesday. The event leads up to the annual fall festival, which will be held next weekend.

GODDARD – The decades- old Goddard Fall Festival returns this weekend with a full slate of activities from Friday through Saturday. Friday night’s schedule includes multi-day events with the WEE Entertainment carnival and the Goddard Lions Club bingo.

Although south-central Kansas is 1,000 or more miles from the communities hit hard by hurricane Helene, there are still impacts being felt locally, including with postal deliveries. Local United States Post Office employees said that mail and packages coming from or going to areas affected by the hurricane are being delayed.

One of the staples in our refrigerator is a package of fresh spinach. We use it for everything— putting it on sandwiches or burgers, wilting it into omelets and using it as a taco topping.

Ingredients Add the flour, fresh spinach and salt to a food processor, and process until the mixture forms a dough. If it is too dry to come together, add a little more spinach.
