CLEARWATER – This Saturday, the Clearwater Fire Department will host an open house and push-in ceremony for its new 2024 Pierce Enforcer Engine. The ceremony will take place 4-6 p.m.
TSnews CLONMEL – With a procession from one building to another, members of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Clonmel officially dedicated their new church building on June 28.
CLEARWATER – Rita Frakes, a teacher at Andover Central High School and former Clearwater School District teacher, died Friday after a fight with cancer. A social media post from Clearwater High School noted that Frakes taught and coached at CHS from 1982 to 2005.
GODDARD – The USD 265 Goddard Public Schools transportation team has a lot to be proud of this summer. Team members participated in the Kansas State Pupil Transportation Association’s (KSPTA) annual School Transportation Safety Conference & State Driving Competition and placed a total of 13 times in seven categories.
ANDALE – A 70-year-old man died in a Friday crash involving a “home-built type” helicopter. The crash happened early Friday morning in Sedgwick County, in a field just southwest of Andale.
CLEARWATER – The Clearwater Police Department has been notified that phone calls are being made requesting donations for the department. In a social media statement, the department said that these calls are a scam.
TSnews CHENEY – The City of Cheney has reached a preliminary agreement to annex portions of three local roadways that have belonged to Sedgwick County, and in the process assuming costs for future maintenance. In recent months, the county has worked with several cities to have the cities annex roadways.
