This year’s theme is “Celebrate our roots – 80 Years of the Fair.” The 80 years of the Fair have actually taken place over 85 years, as World War II led to a multiyear stretch without a Fair.

Teen dies in K-42 motorcycle accident

A man died last week following a motorcycle accident on K-42 in southwest Wichita, just northeast of Schulte. According to the Sedgwick County Sheriff 's Office, Bradley Buhr, 19, was riding with a group of motorcyclists just before 10 p.m.

Students earn foundation scholarships

GODDARD – The Goddard Education Association presented $500 scholarships to two seniors in the district for use in their pursuit of college degrees in the field of education. Those who receive this scholarship are committed to enriching the lives of future generations, and show promise as aspiring educators through their work and commitment both in, and out of, school.
