TSnews CHENEY – The Sedgwick County Fair continues through Saturday in Cheney, with lots of entertainment options. This year’s theme is “Celebrate our roots – 80 Years of the Fair.” The 80 years of the Fair have actually taken place over 85 years, as World War II led to a multiyear stretch without a Fair.

A man died last week following a motorcycle accident on K-42 in southwest Wichita, just northeast of Schulte. According to the Sedgwick County Sheriff 's Office, Bradley Buhr, 19, was riding with a group of motorcyclists just before 10 p.m.

Certain parts of Kansas have received enough moisture this spring to cause mushroom growth in home lawns and gardens. Kansas State University horticulture expert Cynthia Domenghini said most are relatively harmless to other plant life.

TSnews Even in the midst of the summer heat, it's about to sound a lot like Christmas in Goddard. Christmas in July begins on Monday, July 8, at the Goddard Church and will run on Mondays from 7-8:30 p.m.

TSnews CONWAY SPRINGS – At their meeting last week, members of the Conway Springs City Council heard a recommendation to beef up the size of their proposed street project. Darin Neufeld with EBH discussed adding additional streets to the street project.

GODDARD – The Goddard Education Association presented $500 scholarships to two seniors in the district for use in their pursuit of college degrees in the field of education. Those who receive this scholarship are committed to enriching the lives of future generations, and show promise as aspiring educators through their work and commitment both in, and out of, school.
