A few weeks ago, when the county fair carnival was in town, Joey and I decided to host our 6-year-old niece for a sleepover. Well, I should say I decided to host her, and Joey was allowed to participate as the fun uncle who was then relegated to sleeping in the guest room with the dog.

Ingredients 3 tablespoons butter, plus more to grease pan 4 cups miniature marshmallows Liberally grease the bottoms and sides of an eight-by-eight-inch baking pan with butter, and set it aside. Add the three tablespoons of butter to a large saucepan over low heat.

TSnews CLEARWATER – During its meeting Aug. 27, the Clearwater City Council reviewed rendering sketches created by Professional Engineering Consultants (PEC) as part of a master planning process for the Chisholm Trail Sports Complex.

If you’ve been following my raspberry series the last few weeks, you know that I went on a mission to see if I could make raspberry dishes that my husband, Joey, (a known raspberry hater) would enjoy.

Ingredients 1 1/2 cup fresh or frozen raspberries, divided 2 teaspoons cornstarch 1 cup butter, room temperature 1 cup sugar 2 eggs juice of 1 medium-sized lemon zest of 1 medium-sized lemon 2 cups flour 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt 2/3 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt.

CLEARWATER – Bryson Snell, a 2024 Clearwater High School graduate, was recently awarded a $7,500 college scholarship from the mikeroweWORKS foundation. Mike Rowe is best known for his Discovery Channel television series, “Dirty Jobs,” and his advocation for jobs in the trades.

HAYSVILLE – The Haysville Chamber of Commerce had a well-attended meeting last week at the Haysville Activity Center. Highlights included presentations by the activity center, and by Xpress Wellness.

GARDEN PLAIN – The City of Garden Plain has been granted $3,500 in community reinvestment funds from Garden Plain State Bank for the purchase of two new pieces of playground equipment for Ternes Park.
