USD 261 BOE changes meeting date

HAYSVILLE – The USD 261 Haysville Board of Education will meet a week earlier than normal in May. The board has changed its meeting date from May 20 to May 13, which is a Monday night.

ARGONIA – Argonia City Hall will be closed all day Thursday for staff to undergo training. The office also was closed on Wednesday afternoon.

The induction represents his many years serving as a sports official, primarily in the high school ranks, as well as his role in recruiting, training and overseeing officials.

Educator Kilmer passes away

GODDARD – Rick Kilmer, age 76, passed away on April 16. Kilmer was a friend to many, a former teacher, coach, and administrator with more than 40 years in his beloved “Goddard America.” Kilmer began his career in the district in 1970 with Goddard Middle School, teaching everything from geography and psychology to physical education.

Students to give music recital

CONWAY SPRINGS – High school students from Conway Springs will give a public recital this Sunday. The students, who study under Carolyn Miller, will perform at 1:30 p.m.

Library hosts Haysville Chamber

TSnews HAYSVILLE – Members of the Haysville Chamber of Commerce were guests of the Haysville Community Library during the Chamber's April meeting on April 18. A free lunch was provided by the Friends of the Haysville Library, an organization that raises funds that purchase new books and materials for the library.
