TSnews HAYSVILLE – On May 3, 1999, Della Shafer of Haysville woke up for what was to be a memorable day. It was her 68th birthday.

CONWAY SPRINGS – Discovering that you have major water leaks with a structure is never good news, as members of the Conway Springs City Council learned at their meeting last week. At the meeting, a representative from Superior Roofing presented the council with his findings after being brought in recently to inspect the roof on the city's EMS and City Hall building in downtown Conway Springs.

TSnews HAYSVILLE – The teachers at Haysville Public Schools have been teaching through the 2023-24 school year without a contract. The USD 261 Board of Education and the Haysville Education Association (HEA) have not come close on a new contract.

GODDARD – A board member is needed for the Goddard Public Library board of directors. The individual must live within the city limits and be dedicated to the community.

CONWAY SPRINGS – The Conway Springs annual citywide cleanup will be this Saturday at the sports complex, 205 Sports Complex Road. Dumpsters and unloading help will be available from 8 a.m.

HAYSVILLE – Registration is underway for the annual free fishing clinic at Riggs Park in Haysville. The clinic will take place 9-10:30 a.m.

140 Years Ago Mr. Gobin, while digging a well on his place just north of town, came across something of a mineral nature and thought he had a bonanza outright. To relieve himself he took a small portion of the substance to have it analyzed. It was sand.

From April 1931 Estimates made by fruit men of the county and County Agent Knight place the fruit damage by late freeze as killing onethird of the apples and one-half of the peaches. Bert Rymph, formerly of this place now of Corbin, has been employed to teach at Anson next term.

HAYSVILLE – The Haysville Saddle Club will hold its seventh annual PRCA Rodeo this Friday and Saturday. Action begins nightly at 7:30 p.m.

CHENEY – Cheney residents will help mark the observance of National Day of Prayer this Thursday with an event at Veterans Memorial Park. The event will take place at noon this Thursday and is open to the public.
