Body School is out, and summer break is here, bringing sizzling temperatures. While enjoying the outdoors, it is crucial to stay safe. Between May and September, we need to be vigilant about two significant dangers: dehydration and heat-related illnesses.

Body GODDARD – A suspect has been arrested on suspicion of breaking into several Goddard homes. The arrest announcement came from Goddard Police Chief Lance Beagely.

Body ARGONIA – Officials with the City of Argonia are advising people to be ware of fake accounts tied in to the annual car show and street races, held each October.

Body SUMNER COUNTY – The Sumner County Health Department is planning two community listening sessions in July. The public is invited.

Body CHENEY – Cleanup efforts for the Sedgwick County Fair will be held the next two Saturdays. Volunteers are sought to help make the work go more quickly.

Body HAYSVILLE – The Haysville USD 261 Board of Education recently accepted a donation of $2,000 for the district's Summer Exploration and Enrichment (SEE) program. The donation came from the Brian David Higby Fund.

Body GODDARD – Erin Johnston of Discovery Intermediate School was the winner of the Goddard Education Association Teacher of the Year Award. Results were announced at the Goddard School District End of the Year Celebration on May 24.

Body HAYSVILLE – Sedgwick County Environmental Resources will host a free household hazardous waste collection event, open to all residents, in the parking lot of Haysville City Hall, 200 W. Grand from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. this Saturday.
