Body As part of the America 250 celebration, the Sumner County Historical & Genealogical Society, Wellington, will host “Disbelief and Declaration: Americans’ Road to Independence,” presented by Wichita State University professor, Dr. Robert Owens.

Body CHENEY – The Vinita Cemetery will hold its 41st annual meeting at 7 p.m. April 28.

Body HAYSVILLE – One of the more interesting and exciting classes offered at area high schools might be the meteorology class at Campus High School. The class got started four years ago and deals with the science of weather and how it works.

Body CLEARWATER – During its meeting April 14, the Clearwater City Council unanimously adopted two resolutions moving the senior center expansion into its next financing phase.

Body HAYSVILLE – The Haysville City Council at its meeting on April 13 approved the city’s 2026 street program, which expects to resurface approximately 50,000 square yards of streets.

Body CONWAY SPRINGS – It will be a big deal when Bike Across Kansas rolls into town in June, and the Conway Springs City Council made note of that at its meeting last week.
