Haysville Memories

Every year, the Haysville Police Department presents one officer with the honor of being named Officer of The Year. Officers from the department vote for their co-worker of choice and the winner is recognized a the annual Haysville Fall Festival.

October 1968 The instrumental music department is well into another school year. The new room sounds good and the various bands are starting to regain what was lost over the summer.

Through the cooperative efforts of many people in the Argonia community and surrounding areas, a new electric football scoreboard has been purchased and installed on the Argonia athletic field.

Following are next week’s menus for Friendship Meals and Meals on Wheels in both Sedgwick County and Sumner County. A change was made recently, and there are now different menus for Sedgwick County and Sumner County.

Ready to rendezvous

Staff report TSnews Historical re-enactors and interpreters are setting up camp in Riggs Park for the Living History Rendezvous, offering visitors the chance to step back in time and learn about how men and women lived on the 19th-century American frontier.

Tax items, contested races on ballot

This year’s off-year election, where voters have their say on city and school board elections, is a busy one. That’s a change from most years, when many races feature only incumbent candidates, or there are fewer candidates than there are open seats.
