HAYSVILLE – The Friends of the Haysville Library board of directors is hosting a Christmas open house on Friday. The event is open to the public and will run 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Haysville Community Library’s Community Room.

CONWAY SPRINGS – The cast has been announced for the next Conway Springs Community Theatre production. “My Phone Valentine,” written by Brian Sylvia, will be the group's winter dinner show.

GODDARD – The Goddard City Council held a joint meeting Monday with the Planning Commission to hear proposals from four companies interested in helping the city prepare its next comprehensive plan. The current plan expires at the end of the year.

CLEARWATER – On Nov. 6, Clearwater FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) hosted a hands-on Future Finance event for the sophomore class.

CHENEY – Cheney Chamber of Commerce's biggest event of the year, Come home for Christmas, was a big success again this year. “Come Home for Christmas was really good this year,” said Chamber president Jami Viner.

CONWAY SPRINGS – The donation of a historically significant home in Conway Springs was formally accepted last week by the City Council. The Cranmer House has been a council topic ever since its owner approached the city earlier this year with an offer to donate it to the community.

CONWAY SPRINGS – A new superintendent has been hired at USD 356 Conway Springs. The board of education made the offer following a special meeting on Monday.

Kelli Anderson is the new director of Kansas State Extension- Sedgwick County. She grew up on her family’s registered Angus cattle operation in northwest Oklahoma.
