CONWAY SPRINGS – Local business The Daily Scoop has announced it will be closing later this month. Owners Wade and Daphne Kennard made the announcement online on Monday.
GODDARD – Casey's General Store is readying to open this week in Goddard. The convenience store chain will hold a ribbon-cutting for its newest store, located on 183rd Street West just south of U.S. Highway 54 and across the street from Walmart, at 9 a.m. Friday.
CLEARWATER – The Clearwater City Council on Nov. 25 awarded the sale of $255,000 in general obligation temporary notes for the Indian Ridge Phase 2 paving project to Northland Securities at a true interest cost of 3.9264 percent.

TSnews Two local high schools recently made the trip to Indianapolis to the 98th National Future Farmers of America Convention & Expo, making some great memories – and one chapter also earned some nice recognition. The Cheney High School FFA chapter sent 10 students to Indianapolis and was recognized as a two-star national chapter, while the Clearwater High School FFA chapter also made the memorable trip to Indianapolis.
From the Editor’s Files Why is it that Asian food sounds so good around American holidays? I’m not sure I can answer that question with any real authority, but I can sure take a stab at it. And the reason I’m asking the question is because Kim and I spent Thanksgiving with my youngest daughter Katie and her friends and family in Chicago.

8 Years Ago Casey Hostetler, an athlete with the Haysville Hornets Special Olympics sports team, has been awarded one of Special Olympics’ highest awards, the Big 12 Female Athlete of the Year award for 2017-2018. Hostetler is a Haysville resident and the daughter of Leonard and Gloria Hostetler, also residents of Haysville.
